This stool is an experiment and exploration of developing traditional joints. Starting with research of Danish Modernism furniture, I became interested in making joinery as functional decoration. The simple form and natural curves draw attention to the complexity of the joints. It is surprising strong when the members are cut accurately, but over time wood expansion and shrinkage could cause problems with the solid wood top.
