The concept behind making the coffee cup and the dripper in similar shapes arose from a desire to create intimacy in coffee making. At first glance, they are quite similar but it is not until you begin to use them that their differences become clear. While the dripper is one piece, the unstable conical cup is separate from the saucer, imitating the delicate balancing act of pour over coffee and further emphasizing the mind-to-motion connection required to perform the ritual of coffee making and consumption.
